In this quest, you and a group of stalwart companions are searching for a lost city destroyed by a mysterious cataclysm. You'll encounter ghosts, mythological monsters, and eccentric scholars on your journey! This quests provides a comprehensive introduction to Roman daily life with a focus on ancient Pompeii. Students will also learn how Pompeii was destroyed and what we can deduce from the remains. Resources include TED Ed cartoons, Google Arts and Culture, a firsthand account of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius from Pliny the Elder, and a variety of other resources on Roman archaeology. NB: Some quests require students to read selections from "Cambridge Latin Course, Unit 1." These can easily be removed if that particular curriculum is not being used for a class.
