Through a variety of resources students can learn more about Native American tribes-the Mahicans, the Mound Builder tribes, the Haudenosaunee, and a special segment on Sacagawea and her journey with Lewis & Clark. The quest will aid in their understanding of the Native Americans and ideally get them researching more on their own. I included questions on DOK levels 3 & 4 to get students thinking about the topics. Students will need access to readworks.org to read the articles. This quest stays within the 6 limit objectives to be used with free accounts too. The lexile range begins at 600 and goes up to 1120. The more difficult articles have audio with them so this allows the grade level more flexibility from 3rd through 8th.
