Classcraft Quests Marketplace
The Nobel Hero

By Fabian Hofmann

This quest is guiding students through the process of writing an argumentative essay with a Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) Structure. Students choose an artist, athlete, actor/actress, or musician to research and then argue why they should receive the "Nobel Prize for Human Excellence". Step 1: They need to come up with subclaims (or qualities) for why they should be considered the best in their field. Next they need to find evidence and explain why their evidence supports their subclaim. Step 2: Writing stations help them to keep track of their process and make sure they are turning in their best work. Step 3: The (second) graphic organizer helps them structure their writing. Step 4: The final essay is structured into multiple datelines for feedback rounds on Peergrade.io. The final draft is handed in on Google Classroom. Students will receive Classcraft points for finishing the essay.
